SJFI National Convention’s Golden Jubilee edition to commence in New Delhi from March 13

New Delhi : The Golden Jubilee edition of the Sports Journalists Federation of India (SJFI) National Convention will begin in New Delhi on March 13, marking the return of the prestigious gathering to the national capital after more than two decades. The four-day convention, hosted by the Delhi Sports Journalist Association (DSJA), will bring together sports journalists from across the country for discussions, competitions and celebrations centred on 50 years of SJFI.
Recognised and affiliated with the International Sports Press Association (AIPS), SJFI has played a key role in shaping sports journalism in India over the past five decades. The 2026 convention will celebrate that legacy while also looking ahead at how the profession continues to evolve across digital, broadcast and multi-platform storytelling.
Over four days, the convention will combine professional dialogue with sporting action and networking opportunities. The programme includes a major sports conclave, the JK Bose Inter-Zonal T20 Cricket Tournament, the AC Bali Table Tennis Tournament, and multiple engagement activities for families and young participants including the Modern Pythian Games and interactive gaming zones. Basketball, futsal and golf putting competitions are also scheduled as part of the convention programme.
The Golden Jubilee convention has drawn strong backing from corporate and sports ecosystem partners, underlining the scale and importance of the event. Hero MotoCorp has come on board as the Title Sponsor, while the convention is Powered by Apollo Tyres. The list of partners also includes TCM Sports, Sony Sports Network, Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals, DDCA, Jindal Steel, Rajasthan United Football Club, Archery Association of India, Krafton, Svayam, RPL, PEFI, SG Sports, WordsWork Communications Consulting, Modern Pythian Games, JK Tyre, DDA, Artsmith Concepts & Vision, Adimazes, Aabhawater, VIDA and ESGF.
The convention has also received support from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and the Indian Olympic Association, reflecting the importance of the gathering within the broader Indian sports ecosystem.
