Nagaland Baptist Church shouldn’t attempt to create enmity: VHP

New Delhi :  Condemning the averments of NBCC against RSS and VHP, the Int’l President of Vishva Hindu Parishad and Sr. Advocate Shri Alok Kumar today said that it is a likely attempt to create enmity between different sections of the Bharatiya Society. We have seen a statement issued by the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) condemning an alleged ‘Assam Rifles raid’ on Samziuram Baptist Church in Nagaland. Completely out of context, the statement accuses the RSS and VHP as organisations “that promotes and ignites violence and justify such actions”. Interestingly, the statement does not assign any role of the RSS or the VHP in the alleged incident or that any of them justified the incident, he said.

The VHP President said in a statement that It is well known to everyone that RSS and VHP are patriotic and law-abiding organisations. They work for uniting the Hindu Society towards positive missions of social-service, more particularly to the scheduled castes, tribes and other needy segments of the Society.

We are informed that the local pastor and village authority have officially certified that no harassment or damage has been caused by ‘Assam Rifle’ during the operation, he added.

Shri Alok Kumar also said that the NBCC statement appears to be a mischievous and dishonest attempt to escalate a routine security operation into a religious and ideological controversy. The references to RSS and VHP are unrelated to the said event and likely inserted to frame the narrative politically or communally.

The VHP condemns the averments of NBCC against RSS and VHP that have been included in a likely attempt to create enmity between different sections of the Bharatiya Society.
