Pune: The investigation into the high-profile murder of real estate businessman Ketan Agrawal has intensified, with Pune Rural Police recreating the crime scene at Lohagad Fort on Sunday. The two accused, Siya Goyal and Chetan Choudhary, were taken to the hilltop where Agrawal was allegedly pushed to his death as part of the ongoing investigation.

Police said the objective of the crime scene reconstruction was to establish the sequence of events that unfolded on June 18 and verify the statements made by the accused regarding the alleged murder.

Crime Scene Recreated at Lohagad Fort

Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Sandeep Singh Gill said the investigation team escorted both accused to the exact location where the incident allegedly took place.

According to him, investigators reconstructed the entire sequence of events to better understand how the crime occurred. The team examined the route taken by the accused, where they were positioned, what actions they performed, and the order in which the alleged events unfolded.

Police Questioned Both Accused at the Spot

Officials said both Siya Goyal and Chetan Choudhary were extensively questioned during the crime scene recreation. Their statements were cross-checked with available evidence and technical findings gathered during the investigation.

Police believe the exercise will help verify several crucial aspects of the case and strengthen the ongoing probe.

Investigators Verify Sequence of Events

Officials said recreating the incident would help confirm the accused’s version of how and from where Ketan Agrawal was allegedly pushed off the hill. The reconstruction included reenacting the movements and activities of the accused on the day of the incident.

The entire exercise was video-recorded, with investigators documenting each stage of the reconstruction. Police are examining how the accused reached the fort, where they were positioned at the time of the incident, and the exact sequence of events.

Investigators are also looking into how the victim was allegedly pushed from the cliff, what signal Siya Goyal allegedly gave before the incident, and how Chetan Choudhary is alleged to have followed Siya and Ketan inside the fort premises.

Police are further verifying whether Chetan entered the fort without purchasing a ticket and whether he was continuously monitoring Siya and Ketan before the alleged crime.

Alleged Motive Under Investigation

Siya Goyal and Chetan Choudhary have been arrested on charges of conspiring to murder Ketan Agrawal.

According to investigators, Siya allegedly told police that she did not want to marry Ketan and feared that calling off the marriage would bring dishonour to her family. Police are examining these claims as part of the investigation.

Family Members Also Questioned

As part of the probe, police questioned Siya Goyal’s parents, Praveen Goyal and Pooja Goyal, along with her brother Sahil, at the Lonavala Rural Police Station on Saturday.

Officials said the family arrived at around 11:00 a.m., and their statements were recorded for nearly 12 hours.

Investigation Continues

Police have emphasized that the investigation is still underway and all aspects of the case are being examined. The crime scene reconstruction is one of several investigative steps being taken to corroborate witness statements, technical evidence, and other material collected during the probe.

Authorities have stated that the final conclusions will emerge only after the investigation is completed and the evidence is presented before the court.
