New Delhi: Lava International Limited, India’s homegrown smartphone brand, has announced the launch of the Lava Virat Curve 5G, bringing a combination of premium design, performance and AI-powered features to the ₹20,000 smartphone segment.

Designed and developed in India, the Virat Curve 5G features a 6.67-inch FHD+ 3D Curved AMOLED display, premium vegan leather finish, a distinctive rear mini screen, Vayu AI, a 50MP Sony camera and a 6000mAh battery.

The smartphone will be available in a 6GB RAM + 128GB storage configuration and will go on sale on Flipkart from September 28, 2026, at 7 PM. It will be offered in Heritage Indigo, Makrana Ivory and Ellora Slate colour options.

3D Curved AMOLED Display

The Virat Curve 5G comes with a 6.67-inch FHD+ 3D Curved AMOLED display featuring a 120Hz refresh rate, 1.07 billion colours and 10-bit colour depth. The display offers up to 1100 nits peak brightness for improved visibility in bright outdoor conditions.

The smartphone also supports 1920Hz PWM dimming, which is designed to provide a more comfortable viewing experience, particularly in low-light environments.

The rear mini screen adds a distinctive functional element to the device. Users can view notifications, display customised texts and emojis, and check information such as the clock, battery percentage, charging status and volume without unlocking the smartphone.

MediaTek Dimensity 7100 and Vayu AI

Powering the Virat Curve 5G is the 2.4GHz MediaTek Dimensity 7100 octa-core processor, built on a 6nm process. Lava claims an AnTuTu score of over 800,000, with the processor designed to handle gaming, multitasking, content consumption and everyday workloads.

The device comes with 6GB LPDDR5 RAM, with support for up to 6GB of virtual RAM, along with 128GB of internal storage.

The smartphone also features Vayu AI, which Lava describes as its humanised AI experience. The company says the platform is designed to make AI-powered features more natural, accessible and user-focused.

6000mAh Battery with 45W Charging

The Virat Curve 5G packs a 6000mAh battery. According to Lava, the battery can deliver up to 55 hours of talk time, 11 hours of continuous YouTube playback and up to 720 hours of standby time.

The device supports 45W fast charging, while a 33W charger is included in the box.

50MP Sony Camera

For photography, the smartphone features a 50MP Sony IMX752 sensor with EIS and 2K video recording. Camera features include Night Mode, Pro Video, Dual-View Video, Motion Photo and Sports Mode.

For selfies and video calls, the device comes with a 13MP front camera.

Military-Grade Durability

The Virat Curve 5G comes with Lava’s IronGuard Protection, featuring Al-Si DT Star 2 Cover Glass and MIL-STD-810H military-grade certification.

The smartphone also carries an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance, offering protection against everyday dust and spills.

Android 16 and Long-Term Software Support

The smartphone runs on Android 16 and is designed to offer a clean software experience without unwanted pre-installed applications or advertisements.

Lava has committed to providing two years of OS upgrades and three years of security updates.

Other features include an in-display fingerprint sensor, Face Unlock, IR Blaster support, dual stereo speakers and dual-microphone noise cancellation.

The company also said that its new user interface will debut on the Virat Curve through an upcoming SMR update, alongside an enhanced Vayu AI experience and a native Gallery app.

Free Service @ Home

Lava is also offering its Free Service @ Home programme with the Virat Curve 5G. The service provides doorstep after-sales support to customers across India.

Price and Availability

The Lava Virat Curve 5G 6GB + 128GB variant is priced at ₹23,999. As part of the launch offer, the smartphone will be available at an effective price of ₹19,999, inclusive of applicable bank offers.

The smartphone will go on sale on Flipkart from September 28, 2026, at 7 PM in Heritage Indigo, Makrana Ivory and Ellora Slate colour options.
