Delhi Assembly Election 2025: Kejriwal, Parvesh Verma, Bidhuri Among Leaders File Nominations
New Delhi: Several prominent leaders, including Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Arvind Kejriwal and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Parvesh Verma, filed their nominations for the Delhi Assembly elections on Wednesday. Kejriwal and Verma submitted their papers for the New Delhi Assembly constituency.
Before filing his nomination, former Chief Minister Kejriwal held a padyatra (march) and visited the Maharishi Valmiki Temple and the Ancient Hanuman Temple to seek blessings. Accompanied by his family, he offered prayers at these temples. Speaking before filing his nomination, Kejriwal urged Delhi’s 25 million citizens to bless him. He reiterated his commitment to improving schools, hospitals, electricity, and introducing honor allowances for women if re-elected.
AAP leader Sandeep Pathak confirmed Kejriwal’s nomination from the New Delhi seat, emphasizing their continued focus on working for women and the underprivileged. He remarked, “Despite the conspiracies by BJP against AAP and our leaders, the people of Delhi are set to re-elect Kejriwal.”
BJP leader Parvesh Verma also led a march before filing his nomination. Verma stated, “We will ensure that Kejriwal’s deposit is forfeited. He has deceived the poor and done nothing for the slum dwellers.”
BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri filed his nomination for the Kalkaji seat at the DM Office in Amar Colony in the presence of Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri. The current Chief Minister, Atishi, had filed her nomination for the same seat a day earlier.
BJP candidate Vijender Gupta submitted his nomination from the Rohini Assembly seat. Speaking to the media afterward, Gupta expressed gratitude for the love and support he has received from Rohini residents over the past three decades. Union Power Minister Manohar Lal Khattar was present with him during the nomination process.
Former Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay filed his nomination from the Malviya Nagar constituency. He was accompanied by MP Bansuri Swaraj and boxer Vijender Singh.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini attended the nomination process of BJP candidate Dushyant Gautam from the Karol Bagh constituency. Saini criticized Kejriwal, stating that while he sought votes in the name of honesty and development, the truth about his governance is now clear to everyone. He added, “The people of Haryana have supported BJP, and the citizens of Delhi will do the same.”
