Shivaji College celebrating ‘Shivraj 350’
New Delhi. : Shivaji College has been celebrating ‘Shivraj 350’—a commemoration of 350 years since Shivaji Maharaj’s coronation and the establishment of Hindavi Swaraj. Prof. Virender Bhardwaj, Principal, Shivaji College has been at the forefront of steering ‘Shivraj 350’ towards success. He has always encouraged all to incorporate the ideals of Chhatrapati Shivaji into their lives.
It has been a year-long celebration which included the inauguration with the National level ‘Shivaji Bhonsle Annual Hindi Parliamentary Debate’ on October 28, 2023. Rajyabhishek Mahotsav- A Cultural Extravaganza on November 30, 2023, the mega event of Shivaji Jayanti celebrated on February 19, 2024 and several other seminars, invited talks and cultural programs organised by various departments and committees. The conclusion of the celebrations, ‘राज्याभिषेक महोत्सव’, was held on the June 6, 2024, the day when Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was crowned the king of ‘Hindavi Swaraj’. The guest of honour for the day was Sh. Laxmi Narayan Bhala Member, Kendriya Seva Vibhag, RSS and chairman of college, Prof. B. W. Pandey also joined the Shivaji family to be a part of this celebration.
Sh. Bhala ji, In his speech spoke about how mata Jijabai was the inspiration and teacher of Chattrapati Shivaji and played a key role in shaping the Chhatrapati Shivaji as an able administrator and a courageous warrior. On this day 48 staff members (20 teaching members and 28 non-teaching members) were felicitated with the shield ‘शिवराज भूषण’ for their 25 years of exemplary and dedicated service to the college. The annual college magazine ‘Shivraj’ was also released this day.
