DC Tawang Honors 62 Top-Performing Teachers on Teachers’ Day

Tawang (Arunachal Pradesh) :  On the auspicious occasion of Teachers’ Day, Deputy Commissioner Tawang Namgyal Angmo, IAS, felicitated 62 best-performing teachers from across Tawang district whose students secured 100 per cent results in their respective subjects in the recently declared CBSE Class X and XII examinations.
The felicitation programme was held at the auditorium of Government Higher Secondary School, Tawang, as a mark of recognition and appreciation for the dedication, sincerity and contribution of teachers towards improving the academic performance of students in the

district.
Addressing the gathering, DC Tawang emphasised that teaching should not be viewed merely as employment involving classroom instruction and imparting knowledge, but as a profound responsibility of shaping an entire generation. She urged the teachers to carry this sense of responsibility with them not only on Teachers’ Day but throughout their professional careers.
She observed that while administrators and officers implement various schemes, provide technical support and facilitate the creation of educational infrastructure, such efforts cannot achieve their intended purpose without the crucial role played by teachers.
Acknowledging the sincerity and dedication of teachers serving in far-flung and remote areas of Tawang district despite numerous challenges, the DC expressed her appreciation for their

commitment towards the education of children. She urged teachers never to underestimate the importance of their profession, pointing out that the knowledge, values and guidance imparted by them today would bear fruit in the years and decades to come.
Highlighting the long-term nature of investment in education, she said that the results of efforts made in the education sector may not always be immediately visible, but their impact is lasting and transformative.
Speaking on sustainable development and the role of education, the DC called upon teachers to work with a long-term vision, keeping future generations in mind. She stressed that development should be approached from the perspective of its lasting benefits to society rather than merely focusing on short-term gains. Education, she said, remains one of the most important foundations for creating a

responsible, informed and sustainable society.
On behalf of the District Administration and the people of Tawang district, DC Tawang conveyed heartfelt gratitude to all sincere and dedicated teachers for their invaluable service and their contribution towards nation-building and shaping future generations in a positive direction.
DDSE Tawang Hridar Phuntsok, in his address, extended Teachers’ Day greetings to the teaching fraternity and expressed gratitude to DC Tawang for taking the initiative to felicitate the best-performing teachers. He said such recognition of dedication and sincerity would not only encourage the awardees but also motivate other teachers to strive for greater academic excellence.
He further thanked the Deputy Commissioner for her continued support towards improving the education scenario of the district. He attributed the district’s outstanding performance in the

CBSE Class X examination, in which Tawang secured the top position among the districts of Arunachal Pradesh this year, to the collective efforts of teachers and the constant supervision and guidance of the District Administration.
Earlier, In-charge Principal, Government Higher Secondary School, Tawang, T. Sumnyam, in her welcome address, expressed gratitude to DC Tawang for recognising and felicitating the teachers. She also thanked the participating teachers for attending the programme despite their prior engagements with Teachers’ Day celebrations in their respective schools.
The programme concluded with the felicitation of 62 best-performing teachers from across Tawang district, recognising their outstanding contribution towards the academic achievements of their students.
DPC-ISSE Dhondup proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, teachers and all those who contributed towards the successful conduct of the programme.
