Notorious Jharkhand Criminal Aman Sahu Killed in Police Encounter

Palamu (Jharkhand): Notorious Jharkhand criminal Aman Sahu was killed in a police encounter on Tuesday morning. He was being brought to Ranchi from Raipur, Chhattisgarh, in connection with an NIA case when the incident occurred in the Chainpur police station area of Palamu district. A Special Task Force (STS) personnel was also injured in the operation. District Superintendent of Police Rishma Rameshan confirmed the incident and stated that detailed information would be provided later.

According to the Superintendent of Police, Aman Sahu was being transported from Raipur to Ranchi when criminals ambushed the police vehicle in the Chainpur area. They first threw a bomb at the police vehicle and then opened fire. During the chaos, Aman Sahu managed to snatch an INSAS rifle from an STS personnel and attempted to escape. While fleeing, he fired at the officer, injuring him. In retaliation, the police gunned him down. The injured officer has been taken to the hospital.

The police have launched an investigation into the case, and security agencies are also probing other aspects related to the incident.

Meanwhile, reports indicate that traffic movement between Chainpur and Ramgarh has been halted. An ambulance has been dispatched to retrieve the body, which will be sent to MRMC&H for post-mortem after completing the necessary formalities.
