Mizoram Cabinet Reshuffle: Portfolios of Seven Ministers Changed

Aizawl (Mizoram): The Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) government, led by Chief Minister Lalduhoma, carried out a cabinet reshuffle in Mizoram on Monday, reassigning the portfolios of seven ministers.

According to a notification issued by Chief Secretary Khilli Ram Meena, the Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Department, which was previously under Home Minister K. Sapdanga, has now been assigned to Minister of State Prof. Lalnilawma. He already holds charge of Rural Development, Administration, and Public Health Engineering Departments.

Home Minister K. Sapdanga will now oversee the Home Department, along with Urban Development and Poverty Alleviation, and the Personnel & Administrative Reforms Department.

The Tourism Department, which was earlier handled by Cabinet Minister Lalrinpuii, has now been transferred to Minister of State Lalnghinglova Hmar. Lalrinpuii will now be responsible for the Health and Social Welfare, and Women & Child Development Departments.

Hmar will now handle a total of five departments, including Tourism, Sports & Youth Services, Labour, Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, and Excise & Narcotics.

The Horticulture Department, which was earlier under Lalnilawma, has now been assigned to Cabinet Minister C. Lalsawivunga. He was already handling Art & Culture, District Council & Minority Affairs, and Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Departments.

Additionally, after the merger of the Information & Public Relations Department and the Printing & Stationery Department, the newly formed Information, Public Relations, Printing, and Stationery Department has been assigned to Cabinet Minister Vanlalhlana. He was already in charge of School Education, Higher & Technical Education, and Information & Communication Technology (ICT) Departments.

Meanwhile, Minister of State F. Rodingliana, who previously handled the Printing & Stationery Department, will now focus solely on the Power & Electricity, and Commerce & Industries Departments.
