Madhya Pradesh to Script a New Era in Cooperative Sector: CM Dr. Mohan Yadav

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) : Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that the state government is working with a commitment to public welfare. Due to a transparent working approach from the panchayat level to the ministry, the cooperative sector has flourished along with other sectors. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister for Cooperation Amit Shah have guided the cooperative sector with the vision of “Bahujan Hitay, Bahujan Sukhay” (for the welfare and happiness of the masses). Madhya Pradesh will undoubtedly set a new benchmark in the cooperative sector.

Referring to Gujarat’s dairy bonus system, Dr. Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh is moving in the same direction. He also emphasized the vast potential of fisheries in the state, adding that during the recent Global Investors Summit, cooperatives collaborated with industries for mutual growth. The cooperative movement in Madhya Pradesh is gaining momentum, ensuring transparency and expansion across multiple dimensions. Over the next four years, the movement will be elevated to new heights.

The Chief Minister made these remarks while addressing the state-level conference on the International Year of Cooperatives 2025 at Samnvay Bhawan in Bhopal on Wednesday. He welcomed participants from across the state and distributed appointment letters to newly recruited cooperative inspectors.

India’s Cooperative Model Inspires the World
Dr. Yadav emphasized that India has a rich history of cooperation. He noted that while the country historically followed traditions such as the Ashwamedha Yagna, it never sought to capture other nations. Instead, it preserved the autonomy of smaller states while promoting collective progress. This cooperative spirit aligns with the ideals of the United Nations. He also highlighted the philosophy of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (The world is one family), which underscores inclusivity and shared benefits. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has significantly enhanced India’s global stature by promoting these values.

Aligning with PM Modi’s Vision for Cooperative Growth
CM Yadav stated that PM Modi envisioned multipurpose cooperative societies, and entrusted Union Minister Amit Shah with the responsibility of realizing this vision. The central government has ensured that cooperation benefits everyone. Madhya Pradesh is implementing reforms in the same direction. The amendment to the Cooperative Act will now allow society registrations within 30 days, reducing the previous timeline of 90 days. Earlier, applicants faced multiple hurdles, but under Modi’s leadership, procedures are being simplified, making the cooperative sector more diverse and dynamic.

He further assured that industrialization will include cooperative participation, not just individual ventures. Madhya Pradesh aims to support farmers, dairy farmers, and fisheries entrepreneurs through cooperatives, positioning itself as a leader in the sector.
