Himachali Author Dr. Puneet Gupta Presents Book on Harappan Civilization to Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat

New Delhi : Celebrated Himachali scholar and cancer specialist Dr. Puneet Gupta presented his latest book on the Harappan Civilization to Union Culture Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat at the Gyan Bharatam International Conference held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and also saw the presence of Acharya Balkrishna, Co-founder and Managing Director of Patanjali Ayurved.

Dr. Gupta’s book reveals deep insights into the ancient manuscripts of the Harappan era, highlighting that the civilization is nearly 8,000 years old and originated along the Indus River. According to his research, the Harappan Civilization predates both the Egyptian and Mesopotamian civilizations and had a vast geographical spread of around 1 million square kilometers, unified by a common script and water management system.

He further stated that the Harappan script was used across regions that now include India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Yemen. Remarkably, Dr. Gupta pointed out significant similarities between the ancient Indus script and modern Arabic script, as well as with Korean, Thai, Tibetan, Telugu, and Kannada scripts.

His work has been widely praised as a significant contribution to understanding India’s ancient intellectual heritage. The dignitaries present lauded Dr. Gupta’s effort in uncovering historical connections that bridge ancient and modern civilizations.
