A Powerful Voice of Humanity Resonates in “Children of God”

Mumbai : A story that goes beyond entertainment and dares to hold a mirror to society is making its presence felt in Mumbai’s film circuit. The recently released poster of “Children of God”, the new film by Aushim Khetarpal, has already sparked conversations, offering a glimpse into a deeply emotional narrative of identity, rejection, and self-acceptance. Known for his work on projects based on Sai Baba, Aushim Khetarpal steps into a completely different and sensitive space with this film. Director Ashish Saxena shares, “This story comes from reality… we have tried to present it with complete honesty and sensitivity.”
The film sheds light on the experiences and struggles of the LGBTQIA+ community, portraying their journey toward acceptance with empathy and depth. In Khetarpal’s words, “This film is the truth of countless voices that often go unheard… accepting oneself is the greatest courage.”
Lead actor Akash Verma, who plays the challenging role of Amit/Amita, describes it as more than just a performance. “It wasn’t just a role, but a responsibility. It gave me an opportunity to understand emotions and struggles that many people face every day,” he says.
The story follows Amit’s transformation into Amita—a journey marked by pain, rejection, belonging, and ultimately, the light of self-realization. “Children of God” is not just a social drama but an inspirational coming-of-age film that promises to leave audiences with a deeper perspective, urging them to reflect, empathize, and embrace humanity in its truest form.
