Research conducted at Shree Maharshi College of Vedic Astrology, Udaipur; degree conferred at convocation ceremony

Udaipur/New Delhi: Chandrashekhar Jha, who has been associated with the field of astrology for several years, has been awarded a PhD for his research on “Vanaspati, Plants and Astrology.” He conducted the research at Shree Maharshi College of Vedic Astrology, Udaipur, Rajasthan, an institution affiliated with the University of Florida. The doctoral degree was formally conferred upon him at a convocation ceremony held in Udaipur.

Speaking after receiving the degree, Dr Chandrashekhar Jha said that he has been helping people address their concerns through astrology for nearly two and a half decades. During this period, he has had the opportunity to study and analyse thousands of horoscopes.

He said that every individual and every horoscope is unique, and understanding the circumstances of a person’s life requires examining different aspects in a comprehensive manner.

Responding to a question, Dr Jha said that he has been living in the Delhi-NCR region for nearly three decades and originally belongs to Bihar. He said that after extensive discussions with family members and intellectuals, he decided to undertake research on the relationship between vegetation, plants and astrology.

According to Dr Jha, plants and trees have been accorded significant importance in Sanatan culture and ancient Indian scriptures, where their relevance has been discussed extensively. He said that in the Indian tradition, trees and plants have not merely been regarded as part of nature but have also been associated with religious, spiritual, cultural and astrological beliefs.

He said his research is an effort to understand this broader perspective and present it in a systematic academic framework.

Dr Chandrashekhar Jha further said that the relationship between vegetation and astrology has long been part of the Indian knowledge tradition. The objective of his research, he said, is to study the traditional knowledge, beliefs and available references associated with the subject and present them from an academic perspective.
