Consul General inaugurates India’s participation at ITB China 2026 through Rajasthan and Goa Pavilions

Shanghai (China) : Consul General of India in Shanghai, Shri Pratik Mathur inaugurated India’s participation at the prestigious tourism trade and B2B exhibition, ITB China 2026, through the Rajasthan and Goa pavilions, marking India’s inaugural presence at the event. The exhibition is regarded as one of the region’s largest tourism and travel industry platforms, bringing together stakeholders from across the global tourism ecosystem.
In his remarks during the inauguration ceremony, the Consul General emphasized India’s focus on expanding global tourism cooperation and enhancing international tourism exchanges. He underlined India’s efforts to encourage a greater number of global tourists to visit the country across diverse categories, ranging from budget and cultural tourism to luxury and conference-related travel opportunities, through the creation of a conducive and welcoming tourism experience.
The Consul General further highlighted that, guided by the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, India remains committed to expanding the contribution of the tourism economy towards national growth and development. He noted the importance of strengthening delivery mechanisms and fostering closer partnerships between hospitality brands, travel and tourism companies, and tour operators across the region in order to deepen tourism collaboration and people-to-people exchanges.
The Rajasthan and Goa pavilions showcased India’s rich cultural heritage, tourism diversity, hospitality offerings, and unique travel experiences to international visitors and industry stakeholders attending the exhibition.
