Fog Covers Bhopal, Rain and Hailstorm Expected on 27th December

Bhopal: The weather has changed its mood as the year comes to an end in Madhya Pradesh. A western disturbance and cyclonic circulation have become active in northern India. Due to the new system, heavy rain is expected in most districts of the state on 27th and 28th December. Hailstorm is also likely in several places in Bhopal, Indore, Narmadapuram, and Jabalpur districts. However, the night temperature in the state has risen by 4 to 5 degrees, while a drop in the daytime temperature has been recorded. Some places also experienced light rain. The weather is expected to remain the same in the state until 28th December.

On Thursday morning, fog covered Bhopal, Indore, and half of Madhya Pradesh. Additionally, a rain alert has been issued for 10 districts in the Malwa-Nimar region, including Indore-Ujjain division. From 27th December, a strong weather system with hail and rain will affect the entire state. Winds of 40 to 50 km per hour are expected in more than half of the districts. An orange alert has been issued for 11 districts. Prior to this, the weather had changed across the state on Wednesday. Clouds were seen in Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior, Jabalpur, and other districts, leading to a drop in temperature. The temperature in Bhopal was recorded at 22.5°C, in Gwalior at 21.8°C, in Guna at 22°C, in Naogaon at 22.5°C, and in Tikamgarh at 21.5°C. Meanwhile, temperatures were 23.2°C in Khajuraho, 23.8°C in Rewa-Satna, 23°C in Raisen, Shivpuri-Ratlam, and 23.5°C in Ujjain. Indore recorded 24.3°C, and Jabalpur had 27.4°C.

Meteorologist Dr. Divya E. Surendran stated that the western disturbance is currently active. At the same time, a low-pressure area is also active in the Bay of Bengal. Another western disturbance will become active on the night of 26th December. This will create a strong weather system in the state, and its effects will last until 28th December. Today, an alert for rain with thunder and lightning has been issued for Khandwa, Khargone, Barwani, Alirajpur, Jhabua, Dhar, Ratlam, Mandsaur, Neemuch, and Shyopur. Meanwhile, fog will prevail in Bhopal, Vidisha, Raisen, Sehore, Rajgarh, Indore, Ujjain, Dewas, Shajapur, Bhind, Morena, Singrauli, Sidhi, Mauganj, Satna, Anuppur, Shahdol, Umaria, Panna, Damoh, Sagar, Chhatarpur, and Maihar districts.

 

The weather will remain the same for the next 4 days in most parts of the state. On Tuesday-Wednesday night, only the cities of Narsinghpur, Pachmarhi, Gwalior, and Naogaon had temperatures below 12°C. In other cities, the temperature was higher. In major cities, the temperatures were as follows: Bhopal 14°C, Indore 15.3°C, Ujjain 15.5°C, and Jabalpur 13.5°C.
