‘One Flag, One Identity’: Banjara Community Embarks on a New Era as Central Office of Banjara Ekta Sankalp Yatra Inaugurated

New Delhi: In a significant step towards uniting the Banjara community across India, safeguarding their social rights, and preserving their rich cultural heritage, the central office of the ‘Banjara Ekta Sankalp Yatra’ was inaugurated on Sunday at the Kalyana Mandapam of Shri Raghavendra Swamy Math in RK Puram (Sector-12), New Delhi. The event witnessed the participation of a large number of community leaders, saints, intellectuals, and representatives from various states.
Speaking at the inauguration, Shri Maharaj Ji, the chief coordinator of the yatra and Dharmadhikari of Sevagarh, described the Banjara Ekta Sankalp Yatra as more than just a journey. He called it a historic movement aimed at strengthening the community’s unity, self-respect, cultural renaissance, and national consciousness.
He said that with the inauguration of the central office, the Banjara community has entered a new era under the resolve of “One Flag, One Identity.”
Yatra to Begin from Sevagarh on July 5
According to the organisers, the yatra will commence from Sevagarh in Andhra Pradesh on July 5, 2026, and conclude with a grand finale in New Delhi on July 27, 2026. The primary objective is to unite Banjaras living across different parts of the country under the slogan “One Flag, One Identity, One Resolve.”
Unity and Awareness to Remain the Core Focus
Shri Maharaj Ji said the newly established central office would serve as a hub for community service, organisational development, education, cultural preservation, and social welfare initiatives.
Drawing a parallel with nature, he remarked that just as a mighty tree derives its strength from its roots, the Banjara community must draw inspiration from its glorious history, cultural traditions, saintly heritage, and great leaders to move forward as a united society.
He emphasized that the true strength of the community lies in unity, education, and strong organisation, and these values will guide its future progress.
Call to Follow the Ideals of Sant Sevalal Maharaj
During the inaugural ceremony, several speakers highlighted the teachings of Sant Sevalal Maharaj, the Banjara community’s rich historical legacy, cultural heritage, and the need to safeguard its social and political rights.
They described the yatra as a powerful platform for uniting Banjaras across India and urged every member of the community to actively participate in this nationwide awareness campaign.
A New Coordination Centre for the Community
The organisers stated that the Delhi-based central office will coordinate the Banjara Ekta Sankalp Yatra and oversee programmes related to education, culture, social awareness, and community welfare across the country.
Community representatives expressed confidence that this initiative would play a vital role in making the Banjara community more united, empowered, and socially aware at the national level, while strengthening its identity for future generations.
