India Foils Pakistani Drone Attacks at 26 Locations; Explosions Heard in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad

New Delhi: Tensions between India and Pakistan have reached a peak following renewed hostilities. In a swift and decisive response to Pakistan’s provocative actions, India has successfully thwarted drone attacks at more than 26 locations. According to the Ministry of Defence, Indian security forces intercepted and neutralized drone incursions stretching from Jammu and Kashmir to Gujarat. The only reported injuries occurred in Punjab’s Firozpur, where a family was hurt in a nighttime drone strike.

A spokesperson for the Defence Ministry confirmed that Pakistan launched a Fateh-1 missile, which was effectively shot down by India’s air defense system. Meanwhile, Pakistani media reports indicated that loud explosions were heard in Islamabad, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Shorkot, and Jhang. Notably, an explosion was reported near Rafiqui Airbase in Shorkot.

The Defence Ministry stated that the drone attacks primarily targeted airports, air force stations, and other strategic installations. Thanks to heightened alertness, Indian forces neutralized threats at all targeted sites. A total of 26 suspicious drones, many reportedly armed, were detected along the International Border and Line of Control.

The affected regions included Baramulla, Srinagar, Awantipora, Nagrota, Jammu, Firozpur, Pathankot, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Bhuj, and Lakhhi Nala. In Firozpur, one armed drone struck a residential area, injuring a few civilians. The injured received prompt medical care, and the area was secured and evacuated by security personnel.

As a precautionary measure, India has imposed a blackout in all border states, and surveillance has been intensified. The Ministry of Defence urged the public to remain calm and avoid spreading rumors, assuring that the situation is fully under control. Security forces remain on high alert and are prepared to respond swiftly to any further provocation.
