inDrive announces Meals on Wheels campaign in India to tackle hunger
New Delhi : In an endeavour to support underprivileged communities, inDrive has announced Meals on Wheels initiative in India. The initiative aims to tackle hunger by donating approximately 15,000 food boxes in slums and neighbourhoods. inDrive users can express their support for the initiative by simply using the inDrive app to meet their transportation needs. For every second ride a user books through inDrive in these cities, one meal box will be provided to those in need, ensuring that these underprivileged individuals have a fulfilling meal on their plate. The company will deploy 6 dedicated meal cabs to cater to this initiative.
Avik Karmakar, Senior GTM Manager – South Asia, inDrive said ”Through Meals on Wheels initiative, we aim to challenge injustice to underprivileged communities. Such initiatives underscore our commitment to building just and equitable society and lending a helping hand to those in need. We believe that this initiative will inspire others to make a positive impact in the lives of underprivileged communities.”
India ranks 105th out of 127 countries in the Global Hunger Index, which highlights the significance of addressing this pressing issue. With a staggering population of 1.4 billion, over 190 people in India still go to bed hungry.
