IPS G. Nageshwar Rao Appointed as Punjab’s New Vigilance Chief
Chandigarh: The Punjab government has issued a significant order replacing the state’s Vigilance Chief. According to the directive issued on Monday, IPS officer G. Nageshwar Rao has been appointed as the new head of the Vigilance Bureau, replacing Special DGP Varinder Kumar.
G. Nageshwar Rao is a 1995-batch IPS officer. However, he is junior to Varinder Kumar in service rank. Following his removal from the Vigilance Chief position, Varinder Kumar has not been assigned a new posting yet. For now, he has been directed to report to the Punjab DGP office.
The state’s Home Department has officially issued the order regarding this change.
