Jharkhand-Bihar Border Sealed, Long Queue of Vehicles
Hazaribagh (Jharkhand): Due to the heavy influx of devotees at the Prayagraj Mahakumbh, a serious situation has arisen at the Bihar-Jharkhand border. To manage the situation, the Bihar government has sealed its border at Chouparan in Hazaribagh, making it difficult for vehicles to move from Jharkhand to Bihar. For the past four days, traffic congestion has been a major issue on the Kolkata-Delhi National Highway (NH-2). Vehicle movement has completely stalled near the Bihar border in Hazaribagh district. The situation has worsened, particularly due to the large number of small cars and private vehicles.
Chouparan Police Station in charge, Anupam Prakash, stated that only one route is open for passengers traveling from Bihar to Jharkhand. He appealed to people to avoid traveling on the GT Road until the situation normalizes. Currently, many passengers are stranded where they are, facing significant difficulties. Traffic conditions will only return to normal once the Bihar government decides to reopen the border. In the meantime, the administration is making efforts to control the situation.
