Over 420 Million Devotees Have Taken a Holy Dip at Prayagraj Maha Kumbh So Far

MahaKumbh Nagar (UP) : The flow of devotees taking a holy dip at the Prayagraj Maha Kumbh continues unabated. By 10 AM on Sunday, more than 7.63 million devotees had taken the sacred dip in the confluence of the holy rivers. In response to the massive turnout, security measures have been further tightened.

According to Additional Fair Officer Vivek Chartedi, as of 10 AM on Sunday, more than 1 million Kalpavasis and 6.63 million general devotees had taken the holy dip. Pilgrims are immersing themselves in the sacred waters of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythological Saraswati at various ghats of the Sangam. The influx of devotees is ongoing, and the numbers continue to rise.

 

Massive Gathering of Devotees: Over 7.63 Million Took the Holy Dip by 10 AM

In this 144-year auspicious Maha Kumbh cycle, more than 420 million devotees have already taken a holy dip by February 8, with the arrival of pilgrims continuing. To ensure safety, rescue teams, water police, and divers have been deployed at all bathing ghats, with heightened vigilance. Authorities are also actively managing the crowd by urging those who have completed their bath to move out of the ghats promptly.

Vehicle Entry Banned in the Fair Area
To control congestion, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Maha Kumbh and the Police Commissioner of Prayagraj have imposed restrictions on the entry of large vehicles into the fairgrounds. This restriction will remain in place until the crowd returns to normal levels. Only ambulances and fire services will be allowed entry for emergency purposes.

Authorities emphasize that these measures are aimed at ensuring the safety of all pilgrims attending the Maha Kumbh. Devotees are urged to follow administrative guidelines and cooperate to maintain order in the fair area.
