Putin’s Armored Limousine Catches Fire After Explosion Near FSB Headquarters in Moscow
Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin’s Aurus Senat limousine caught fire following an explosion near the Federal Security Service (FSB) headquarters in Moscow. The £275,000 vehicle was engulfed in flames as bystanders attempted to extinguish the fire before emergency services arrived.
According to a GB News report broadcast on March 29, the fire is believed to have originated in the engine compartment before rapidly spreading to the car’s interior. Smoke billowed onto the street, prompting staff from nearby restaurants to rush in and assist. Video footage shows the rear of the car severely damaged. The exact cause of the explosion remains unclear, but reports suggest the vehicle is part of the Kremlin’s Presidential Property Management Department.
Aurus Senat: The Ultimate Armored Vehicle
The Aurus Senat limousine was specially designed for President Putin by Russian company NAMI in collaboration with the Central Scientific Research Automobile and Automotive Engine Institute. The 6.7-meter-long vehicle weighs 2,700 kg and is fully bulletproof, capable of withstanding gunfire and bomb blasts from both above and below.
Some of its advanced security features include:
- Self-contained oxygen supply system for emergency situations
- Flat-run tires that remain functional even when punctured
- Secure communication system enabling contact anywhere in the world
- Advanced weaponry and defense mechanisms
These features essentially turn the limousine into a mobile bunker, making it one of the safest vehicles in the world.
