Self-Transformation Is the Foundation of Nation-Building: J.P. Nadda

New Delhi: The third day of the birth centenary celebrations of Revered Mata Bhagwati Devi Sharma Ji and the centenary of the Akhand Deep, organised by the Akhil Vishwa Gayatri Pariwar at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi, witnessed a remarkable blend of spiritual awakening, cultural performances and commitments towards nation-building.

The programme commenced with captivating group dance performances by students of Dev Sanskriti University on the devotional songs ‘Ab Nav Yug Ki Gangotri Se Bahi Gyan Ki Dhara Hai’ and ‘Lagi Re Lagan O Maa Ki’. The soulful performances brought alive the ideals of Gurudev and Mataji and the spirit of the Yug Nirman movement.

During the second session, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Jagat Prakash Nadda described self-transformation as the foundation of nation-building. He said that the penance, spiritual discipline, compassion and dedication to public welfare of Param Pujya Gurudev Pandit Shriram Sharma Acharya, along with the selfless motherhood of Revered Mataji, serve as an inspiration for all humanity.

Mr Nadda emphasised three key commitments: self-refinement of individuals, nurturing noble values within families, and dedicating one’s abilities and resources to the welfare of society and the nation. He said that spiritual practice should not remain confined to rituals of worship but must find expression through service, compassion and social responsibility. He added that the vision of nation-building could be realised only through the collective participation of women, youth and society.

Dr Chinmay Pandya, Vice President of Dev Sanskriti University and leader of the birth centenary celebrations, said that in an atmosphere marked by disorder, unrighteousness and moral decline, the Gayatri Mantra guides individuals away from confusion and towards wisdom, sound judgement and noble conduct. He described it not merely as a mantra of worship but as a spiritual force for character-building and transformation in life.

Dr Pandya emphasised that the real reconstruction of the nation would not come through external systems alone, but through positive changes in people’s thoughts, emotions and perspectives. Inner refinement, he said, is the foundation of an ideal family, a strong society and an empowered nation.

Member of Parliament Anurag Singh Thakur said that genuine transformation comes not merely from expressing ideas but from putting them into practice in everyday life. He highlighted social sensitivity, a sense of duty, physical fitness and respect for women as essential elements of societal progress.

Several distinguished guests, including Shri Antar Singh Arya, Shri Ramankant, Shri Manu Gaur and Shri T.S. Kalyanaraman, along with administrative officials, media representatives and Gayatri devotees from various countries, attended the programme.
