‘Stree 2’ Dominates Box Office

Mumbai: Bollywood actors Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor’s film ‘Stree 2’ is creating waves at the box office. Within just two days of its release, the film has crossed the ₹100 crore mark. The much-anticipated film from Dinesh Vijan’s production house collected ₹51.80 crore on its opening day at the Indian box office, with an estimated ₹30 crore expected on Friday. The film also earned ₹8.5 crore through paid preview shows, breaking records when combined with its overseas earnings.

While Akshay Kumar’s ‘Khel Khel Mein’ and John Abraham’s ‘Veda’ are holding their ground at the box office, the horror-comedy ‘Stree 2’ has truly stood out. The first part of the film was made with a budget of ₹20-25 crore, while the sequel was produced at a cost of around ₹30-40 crore. The makers of the first film earned ₹180 crore, and it will be interesting to see how much the worldwide collection of ‘Stree 2’ will amount to. The film has had a phenomenal start.

As for ‘Stree 2”s worldwide box office collection, it was clear that this Shraddha-Rajkummar starrer was set to make history on its opening day. By the second day, the film’s total worldwide collection surpassed ₹100 crore. Most Bollywood films manage to hit the ₹100 crore mark within just two days. According to insiders, this Amar Kaushik-directed film is expected to easily cross the ₹200 crore mark by the end of its first weekend.

Before the release of ‘Stree 2’, trade expert Girish Johar predicted that the film’s previous part was a blockbuster hit, and with the story ending on such a twist, audiences were eagerly awaiting the sequel. Additionally, the long weekend due to August 15 has also worked in the film’s favor. The trailer and songs have played a significant role in generating buzz, making it evident that the film is on its way to achieving tremendous success.
