Strong Winds Increase Cold in Plains, Temperature Drops in Several Rajasthan Cities
Jaipur (Rajasthan) : The recent snowfall in hilly areas is now having a noticeable impact on the plains. On Tuesday, cold winds intensified the chill in several parts of Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, and western Uttar Pradesh. In various cities of Rajasthan, the maximum daytime temperature dropped by up to 7 degrees Celsius. Districts like Churu, Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, and Sikar recorded temperatures below 25 degrees Celsius.
By Tuesday evening, strong cold winds caused a sudden dip in temperatures in Jaipur, Dausa, Alwar, and Sikar. According to the Meteorological Department, northern winds will persist for the next two days, leading to a further drop in temperature. However, temperatures are expected to gradually rise after March 7.
The weather remained clear across Rajasthan in the past 24 hours, but strong cold winds picked up from the afternoon in northwestern and northeastern districts. These winds also caused dust storms, leading to a sudden drop in temperature. In Fatehpur (Sikar), the maximum temperature fell by 8 degrees to 23.8 degrees Celsius. Similarly, a temperature drop of 5 to 7 degrees Celsius was recorded in Jhunjhunu, Mount Abu, Nagaur, Churu, Bikaner, and Jodhpur.
Bhilwara recorded the highest temperature in Rajasthan on Tuesday, with a maximum of 32.9 degrees Celsius. In contrast, temperatures in Dungarpur, Pratapgarh, and Dholpur remained around 30 degrees Celsius.
In Jaipur, cold winds began blowing in the afternoon, causing a temperature drop. By evening, people started feeling the need for warm clothing. Compared to Monday, Jaipur’s maximum temperature dropped by 4 degrees Celsius to 27 degrees Celsius.
Radheshyam Sharma, Director of the Meteorological Center in Jaipur, stated that no western disturbances will be active in Rajasthan for the next few days, keeping the weather dry. Northern winds are expected to blow at speeds of 20-25 km per hour over the next 48 hours, leading to a decrease of 2 to 4 degrees Celsius in both minimum and maximum temperatures. However, after March 7-8, the intensity of these winds will reduce, and temperatures will gradually increase.
