Taapsee Pannu to Star in Action-Thriller ‘Gandhari’

New Delhi: Actress Taapsee Pannu, known for her role in “Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba,” is reuniting with writer-producer Kanika Dhillon for a new film titled “Gandhari.” Netflix recently made the official announcement through a short video shared on social media.

According to reports, “Gandhari” will be an action-thriller that promises an intriguing story filled with unwavering determination. Taapsee Pannu will be seen playing a fierce mother on a mission. Describing the plot, Netflix stated that Taapsee is once again teaming up with writer-producer Kanika Dhillon for this film.

Taapsee expressed her excitement, saying, “There’s a special kind of magic when Kanika and I come together on a film. With ‘Gandhari,’ she’s diving into new emotional depths, and I’m thrilled to explore this passionate character. I’ve been waiting for a script that would bring me back and challenge me in new ways.”

Reflecting on her role, Taapsee added, “After playing a spy, I was looking for something with more depth. A powerful story of a mother driven by vengeance felt just right for ‘Gandhari.’ Collaborating with Netflix and Katha Pictures allows us to create bold, unique, and impactful stories. This film marks the sixth collaboration between Taapsee and Dhillon, following successful projects like Anurag Kashyap’s “Manmarziyaan,” “Haseen Dillruba,” its sequel “Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba,” “Rashmi Rocket,” and now, “Gandhari,” which will also see the involvement of renowned filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani.
