Grand ‘Shiv Theme Park’ to Come Up in Kashi; World’s Tallest 130-Foot Shivling to Be Installed

Varanasi: Kashi, one of the world’s most prominent centers of spirituality and tourism, is set to add another landmark to its rich heritage. The Varanasi Municipal Corporation has approved a plan to develop a grand ‘Shiv Theme Park’ across 20 acres of land. The ambitious project is estimated to cost around ₹100 crore.
The centerpiece of this world-class urban park will be a 130-foot-tall Shivling, which is expected to become the tallest Shivling in the world. A beautifully designed pathway will surround the massive structure, while visitors will also be treated to a state-of-the-art laser show highlighting the spiritual and cultural significance of Lord Shiva.
According to Municipal Commissioner Himanshu Nagpal, the park will feature high-tech rides for children, elegant gazebos for relaxation, and a large food court to enhance the visitor experience. The project aims to promote religious tourism while providing modern recreational facilities for residents and tourists alike.
The park complex will also include a modern planetarium, a city park, and an open-air art gallery. In addition, a dedicated museum will be developed to showcase the lives and contributions of Padma awardees from Kashi as well as other distinguished personalities from across India.
The proposed Shiv Theme Park is expected to give a new boost to religious, cultural, and tourism activities in Varanasi. Local authorities believe the project will emerge as a major attraction for domestic and international visitors, further strengthening the city’s global identity as a spiritual and cultural destination.
