Amit Shah Condemns Ganderbal Terror Attack, Calls It Cowardly Act; Vows No Terrorist Will Be Spared

Srinagar: In a terror attack on Sunday night in the Gagangir area of Ganderbal district, Jammu and Kashmir, a doctor from Budgam and five non-local workers lost their lives. Five others were injured and have been referred to a hospital in Srinagar. Union Home Minister Amit Shah condemned the attack, stating that those responsible for this heinous act would not be spared.

Amit Shah wrote on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), “The cowardly terror attack on civilians in Gagangir, Jammu and Kashmir, is a despicable act. Those involved in this heinous act will not be spared and will face a strong response from our security forces.” Expressing grief over the loss of lives, the Home Minister extended his deep condolences to the families of the deceased and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.

Meanwhile, the Lieutenant Governor of the state, Manoj Sinha, said, “I strongly condemn the heinous terrorist attack on civilians in Gagangir. I assure the people that those behind this act will not be spared. We have given full freedom to the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the Army, and security forces.”

Sinha further added, “Our brave personnel are on the ground, and they will ensure that the terrorists pay a heavy price for their actions. My heartfelt condolences go out to the bereaved families. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured. The entire nation stands united in solidarity.”

It is noteworthy that the government is constructing a tunnel in the Gagangir area of Ganderbal under a central scheme, and the laborers had been accommodated in a nearby camp. The terrorists targeted this camp, resulting in the deaths of six individuals. Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation.
