921 Nominations Rejected for Maharashtra Assembly Elections, 7,073 Deemed Valid

Mumbai: Out of the 7,994 nomination forms filed for the 288 seats in the Maharashtra Assembly elections, 921 nominations have been rejected due to various discrepancies, while 7,073 have been declared valid, according to the Chief Election Officer. The deadline for filing nominations was October 29, and the last date for withdrawal of nominations is November 4. Voting will take place on November 20, with the results to be announced on November 23.

According to the Chief Election Officer, there are 97,025,119 registered voters in the state, including 52,022,739 male voters, 46,996,279 female voters, and 6,101 third-gender voters. Pune district has the highest number of registered voters, totaling 8,849,590, including 4,579,216 male, 4,269,569 female, and 805 third-gender voters.

Sindhudurg district has the fewest voters in the state, with a total of 678,928 registered voters, including 336,991 male, 341,934 female, and 3 third-gender voters. Additionally, there are 116,170 registered service voters in the state, with 112,318 male and 3,852 female service voters. The state also has 47,389 voters aged 100 years and above, including 21,089 male, 26,298 female, and 2 third-gender voters.
