Seizure of 700 Kgs of Drugs in Gujarat Result of Enhanced Coordination Among Agencies

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Friday that the seizure of nearly 700 kilograms of drugs in Gujarat was the result of enhanced coordination between the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), the Indian Navy, and Gujarat Police. He hailed it as a historic success and congratulated the agencies involved.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Amit Shah said, “While fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a drug-free India, the agencies today dismantled an international drug trafficking syndicate in Gujarat and seized about 700 kilograms of banned meth. The joint operation by NCB, the Indian Navy, and Gujarat Police is a splendid example of seamless coordination among our agencies and our unwavering commitment to this mission.”

In a statement, NCB’s Additional Director General (Operations), IPS officer Gyaneshwar Singh, praised the effort, saying that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the guidance of Amit Shah, this success is a testament to the government’s zero-tolerance policy towards narcotics. He stated that the joint operation conducted by NCB, the Indian Navy, and the Gujarat Police’s Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) led to the interception of a vessel in Indian waters carrying almost 700 kilograms of meth. During the operation, eight foreign nationals, who claimed to be of Iranian origin, were arrested.
