“MSM Samman-2025” will be conferred upon renowned litterateur Dr. Virendra Mallik

New Delhi: In a meeting held on January 12, 2025, under the aegis of the Maithili Sahitya Mahasabha (MSM), it was unanimously decided that the annual seminar, Vasantotsav, and the 10th anniversary of the Mahasabha will be jointly celebrated on the occasion of International Mother Language Day on February 21, 2025. On this occasion, a grand poetry recital, an annual seminar on “Acharya Ramlochan Sharan: Personality and Works,” and a cultural evening will be organized.

During the meeting, MSM President Mr. Rahul Jha proposed adding a new chapter to the Mahasabha’s activities. He suggested that “MSMm Samman” be awarded to a distinguished litterateur who has made significant contributions to Maithili literature. The proposal included a cash award of ₹31,000/-, a Maithila painting-decorated pagri-dopatta, and a certificate of appreciation. This proposal was enthusiastically welcomed by all members and was passed unanimously.

After in-depth discussions, it was decided that the first “MSM Samman” for the year 2025 will be conferred upon the esteemed Maithili writer Dr. Virendra Mallik.
