Tejashwi Yadav’s Big Statement: “Delisting Voters a Major Conspiracy; Deputy CM Failed to Grasp CM’s Seriousness”
Patna (Bihar): During the monsoon session of the Bihar Assembly today, Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav launched a scathing attack on the ruling party. He said, “When names are removed from the voter list, how will people receive the benefits of government schemes? This is a major conspiracy.”
Expressing his disappointment over the proceedings in the House, Tejashwi said, “Today was meant for a serious debate, but Chief Minister Nitish Kumar failed to understand its importance. While we were sincerely listening to him, his ‘mischievous’ Deputy Chief Minister kept interrupting.”
Tejashwi backed the statement made by Congress MLA Bhai Virendra, saying, “Bhai Virendra was right in saying that the Assembly does not belong to anyone’s father — it belongs to the people.” He added, “When the Chief Minister and the Leader of the Opposition are speaking, no one else has the right to interrupt.”
Today’s Assembly session was scheduled for a special debate, but the opposition alleged that the ruling party disrupted the discussion. Tejashwi said, “What happened today should not have happened. This was an important debate, but they ruined it.”
Concluding his remarks, Tejashwi appealed to the Speaker of the Assembly, stating, “We have requested that the House be conducted in an orderly manner and that we are given a fair chance to present our views.”
The developments in the Assembly clearly indicate that the opposition is on the offensive over the government’s policies and is displeased with the ruling party’s conduct.
