Airtel and Google Partner to Offer Google One Subscription to Postpaid and Wi-Fi Customers

New Delhi: India’s leading telecom company, Bharti Airtel, and Google today announced a partnership to offer Google One cloud storage subscriptions to Airtel customers. This initiative will be particularly beneficial for customers who face storage limitations on their devices. All Airtel postpaid and home Wi-Fi customers will be eligible to receive 100 GB of Google One cloud storage free of charge for six months. Customers will also have the option to share this storage with up to five additional people.

This collaboration between Airtel and Google aims to address the growing challenge faced by consumers who are forced to delete files or invest in expensive physical storage due to limited device space. With this service, customers will be able to store their photos, videos, documents, and other digital content seamlessly. Additionally, Android users will be able to back up their WhatsApp chats to their Google Account, making it easier to transfer data to new devices. This cloud storage service will be available on both Android and iOS platforms, offering direct benefits to Airtel’s wide and diverse customer base.

Speaking on the partnership, Siddharth Sharma, Director – Marketing and CEO – Connected Homes, Bharti Airtel, said:
“Smartphones today are more than just communication devices; they are essential tools for managing both personal and professional life. Storage issues have become a major concern for many users. We are pleased to partner with Google to provide our customers with a secure, reliable, and easy-to-use cloud storage solution. This collaboration will give millions of our postpaid and home Wi-Fi customers access to an additional 100 GB of storage.”

Karen Teo, Vice President, Platforms and Devices Partnerships, Google Asia-Pacific, added:
“We are excited to partner with Airtel to bring Google One to millions of users in India. This partnership aims to help users back up important content on their mobile devices—including photos, videos, and files—so they can enjoy more space across Google Photos, Drive, Gmail, and other services.”

As an introductory offer, the 100 GB cloud storage service will be available free of charge for six months from the date of activation. During this period, users can securely back up their data and experience the benefits of cloud storage. To avail this offer, customers need to log in to the Airtel Thanks app and claim and activate the offer. After the six-month free period, a nominal fee of ₹125 per month will be added to the customer’s monthly bill. Customers who do not wish to continue the subscription can opt out of Google One membership.
