New Delhi: The Avaada Bharat Uday Yatra, a first-of-its-kind nationwide movement spearheaded by integrated energy transition leader Avaada Group, concluded successfully after travelling across 27 cities in 10 states over 36 days, carrying the message of clean energy, sustainability, and climate responsibility to millions of Indians.

The grand closing ceremony was attended by Union Minister for Jal Shakti, C.R. Patil, who served as the Chief Guest. During the event, Kishor Nair, CEO of Avaada Energy, felicitated the minister in recognition of his presence and support for the initiative.

Taking Sustainability Beyond Policy Circles

The Avaada Bharat Uday Yatra was launched with the objective of taking conversations around sustainability and renewable energy beyond policy forums and boardrooms and into the heart of communities across the country. Over the past 36 days, the yatra travelled through 27 cities across Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, and Odisha.

The initiative emerged as a powerful platform for meaningful dialogue on sustainability, renewable energy, and climate responsibility. Citizens, students, educational institutions, industry stakeholders, and local communities actively participated in discussions and awareness activities, helping bring critical environmental issues to the grassroots level.

Citizens Must Play a Key Role in Sustainable Development: C.R. Patil

Addressing the gathering at the concluding ceremony, Union Minister C.R. Patil emphasized that achieving sustainable development requires active participation from every citizen.

“Under the capable leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Government of India is implementing transformative initiatives such as the PM-KUSUM Scheme and PM Surya Ghar Yojana to accelerate the adoption of renewable energy. However, the long-term success of these initiatives depends on their transformation into a people’s movement,” he said.

Patil congratulated Vineet Mittal and the Avaada team for successfully completing the Bharat Uday Yatra and for carrying the message of sustainability directly to the public.

“The yatra has inspired citizens to become stakeholders in India’s green future. By working together, we can build a stronger, self-reliant, and environmentally secure India,” he added.

From Awareness Campaign to National Movement

Reflecting on the journey, Vineet Mittal, Chairman of Avaada Group, said the initiative began as an awareness campaign but gradually evolved into a nationwide movement connecting citizens with India’s clean energy future.

“As the yatra progressed, we witnessed growing enthusiasm among people of all age groups to participate in India’s sustainability journey. The overwhelming response has strengthened our belief that India’s energy transition will be most impactful when driven not only by policy and technology but also by active citizen participation,” Mittal said.

He added that as India advances toward the vision of a Viksit Bharat, initiatives such as the Bharat Uday Yatra will play a crucial role in generating awareness, inspiring action, and transforming sustainability into a shared national responsibility.

Strengthening India’s Green Future

The successful completion of the Avaada Bharat Uday Yatra marks a significant milestone in public engagement around renewable energy and climate action. By connecting policymakers, industry leaders, students, and citizens, the initiative has helped broaden the national conversation on sustainability and reinforced the importance of collective action in building a greener and more sustainable future for India.
