Entire Mela Area Declared No-Vehicle Zone Amid Rising Crowd of Devotees
Mahakumbh Nagar, Prayagraj: Due to the continuously increasing crowd of devotees at the Prayagraj Mahakumbh, the entire mela area has been declared a No-Vehicle Zone from February 15 to February 16. Traffic regulations have also been modified accordingly. This announcement was made on Saturday by Senior Superintendent of Police (Mahakumbh) Rajesh Dwivedi.
He stated that a zonal traffic system has been implemented throughout the mela area to ensure smooth movement and security for devotees and pilgrims. This system will remain in effect on February 15 and 16.
Designated Bathing Areas for Devotees
Devotees arriving from the Parade Mela area can bathe at Sangam and other designated ghats in the Parade region.
Devotees from the Jhunsi Mela area should use the bathing ghats in Jhunsi itself.
Devotees from the Arail Mela area should proceed to bathing ghats in Arail.
Strict No-Vehicle Zone in Mahakumbh Mela Area
For devotees and pilgrims entering the Mahakumbh Mela area, even those with official vehicle passes must park their vehicles at designated parking locations. Only emergency services, such as ambulances, food supply, and essential logistics vehicles, will be allowed to operate inside the mela zone. All other vehicles will be strictly prohibited.
Authorities have requested all devotees and pilgrims to cooperate with mela police, administration, and traffic personnel. Following these guidelines will ensure a smooth pilgrimage experience and safe bathing arrangements for all.
