Mumbai: Following the phenomenal success of Bohurupi, one of Bengali cinema’s most beloved characters, Jhimli, is all set to return to the big screen. Actress Koushani Mukherjee reprises her fan-favourite role in Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee’s highly anticipated sequel, Bohurupi: The Golden Dacoit, which is slated for a Durga Puja 2026 theatrical release.

While audiences adored the captivating chemistry between Bikram and Jhimli in the original film, the sequel promises to take their relationship in an entirely new direction. With a grander canvas, deeper emotions, and unexpected twists, Bohurupi: The Golden Dacoit expands the world established in its predecessor. This time, Jhimli emerges as a far more layered, powerful, and emotionally complex character.

Expressing her excitement about returning to the role, Koushani Mukherjee said:
