Nitish Cabinet Approves 16 Proposals Including 3% DA Hike for State Employees
Patna (Bihar): In a meeting of the Nitish Cabinet, the Bihar government decided to increase the Dearness Allowance (DA) of state employees by 3%. Along with this, the Cabinet also approved new guidelines for social media and online media, as well as 38 important proposals.
The meeting, which took place on Thursday at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in the Cabinet Hall, decided that employees under the seventh pay commission will receive the enhanced DA from July 1, 2024. Additionally, the Nitish Cabinet made a significant decision regarding the removal of encroachments on government lands. A separate team will be formed under the leadership of the Patna District Magistrate to tackle encroachment issues in the urban areas of Patna.
The Bihar government also approved the rules for the appointment of surgical class assistants under the Health Department. In another key decision, the Cabinet approved the rules for Bihar Dental Medical Service under the Bihar Health Services. The Cabinet also approved the Chief Minister’s Home Assistance Scheme 2024.
Three agendas from the Industry Department were approved, and the Rural Works Department received approval to implement a rural road management program. The government approved the creation of 210 additional posts under the Bihar Municipal Amendment Act. The state’s contribution to the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme was reduced, and 50.50 acres of land in Punauradham, Sitamarhi, was approved for acquisition by the Tourism Department.
To strengthen urban governance in Patna’s urban areas, the Cabinet approved the creation of 153 new posts, including three for Deputy Superintendent of Police, three for Police Inspectors, nine for Sub-Inspectors, 18 for Assistant Sub-Inspectors, and 120 for constables. The Cabinet also approved an increase in the cash reward for recipients of bravery awards and posthumous rewards for their dependents.
