‘Organ of Hope’ Enters the Guinness World Records, Organ Donation Message Resonates from Lalbaug 

Mumbai  :  Amid the festive spirit of Ganeshotsav in Lalbaug, a powerful message of humanity and hope is making its presence felt alongside devotion. Gleneagles Hospital Mumbai, in collaboration with Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal, has unveiled a massive 15.59-metre-tall fibreglass structure titled ‘Organ of Hope’ as part of its ‘Organs of Hope’ campaign. Depicting various human organs, the unique installation has been recognised by the Guinness World Records as the “largest fibreglass sculpture of organs.”

The initiative aims to raise awareness about organ donation among the thousands of people visiting Lalbaug during Ganeshotsav and help dispel common myths and misconceptions surrounding organ donation. Volunteers associated with the campaign are engaging with visitors, providing accurate information about organ donation and encouraging families to discuss this important subject with one another.

According to Dr. Bipin Chewale, CEO of Gleneagles Hospital, the objective of the campaign is to take the message of organ donation beyond the hospital premises and bring it closer to society. Sudhir Salvi described the initiative as an effort to offer the gift of life to those in need.

The ‘Organ of Hope’ is not merely a massive structure standing in Lalbaug; it has emerged as a symbol of hope, compassion and the collective commitment to saving lives.

The campaign also brings together several organisations and educational institutions, including ZTCC, Mohan Foundation, Narmada Kidney Foundation, Verma Trust, Donate Life Lunava Helping Hands, ISCCM – Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine, Mumbai City Branch, along with students and teachers from Ramnarain Ruia Autonomous College, SNDT Matunga, Kirti College and Khalsa College.
