Dy CM Chowna Mein Inaugurates New WRD Sub-Divisional Office at Chongkham and JE Office at Wakro

Chongkham/Wakro (Arunachal Pradesh): Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Chowna Mein,  inaugurated the new Sub-Divisional Office of the Water Resources Department (WRD) at Chongkham and the Junior Engineer Office of WRD at Wakro, both located in his home constituency.

The newly inaugurated facilities, funded under the RE scheme, are expected to enhance coordination, improve field survey operations, and boost the morale of WRD officials working on the ground.

Addressing the gathering, Deputy CM Mein stressed the importance of a strong and responsive administrative setup to cater to the development needs of a fast-growing Arunachal Pradesh. “Decentralisation is the key to ensuring that development reaches the last mile. By empowering field offices with better infrastructure, we are accelerating the pace of execution and responsiveness,” he said.

During the visit, Mein also reviewed the progress of various ongoing WRD projects. The Executive Engineer of WRD gave a detailed presentation on project status and implementation strategies.

Calling for a transformation in work ethics, Mein urged the District Administration and Heads of Departments to adopt a results-oriented, professional work culture focused on discipline, efficiency, and public service.

The event was also attended by Member of Parliament Tapir Gao, MLA of Namsai Zingnu Namchoom, ZPC Lohit Dasulu Krishikro, Namsai Deputy Commissioner C.R. Khampa, ZPM Jenia Namchoom, Superintendent of Police S. Thinley, and several government officials.
